Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
-Theodore Roosevelt, 1858-1919, 26th American president
My take: Perhaps this is why “the mass of men live lives of quiet desperation” (Henry David Thoreau). Most people don’t feel that their jobs are worth doing. It is just a means of paying the bills.
Historical note: Theodore Roosevelt was the first American to be awarded the Nobel Prize. He won the Peace Prize in 1906.
Where can I get that picture? It is beautiful!
